Hi Everyone

Hope some of you have recovered from the Black Tie party at the weekend! Looks like a bigger venue for next year based on popular demand!

Quiet time in the tennis world... Cameron Norrie got engaged, Serena dampened interest in a return to the circuit and Jack Draper still not quite fit enough to play in UTS event in London..

Club News

Singles Box leagues out very soon.. Rekindle those feisty rivalries!

Don't forget to get your GRACE matches played... Better sooner than later with all this dodgy weather around..

Don't forget to check courts for litter or tennis ball tubes or lids after you have swept the courts...

Don't let the excitement of opening a new tin of balls or a tasty energy snack stop you from discarding the metal lids or wrappers in the bins... Better sooner than never! (Especially if you are on the middle courts.. A short walk to the bins.. A nice warm up or cool down!)

Loving the McDonalds lookalike scoring systems on courts 1&3.. Watch your heads if you're chasing a ball near the net!

Don't forget Club Christmas Party this Sunday 7th December with a social session before, 10-12... I'm sure a bit of Christmas fancy dress in order!

Sending out big hug to our members in tougher times... We are always thinking of you

If anyone has picked up the wrong racket a while ago give me a shout and I can swap back with rightful owner.. It's a Head Ti6.

Coaching Tip of the Week

Never stand still at the net... Follow the direction of the ball... If it goes wide, shift slightly wider to cover the shot down the line... If it goes towards the middle then shift a bit to look for the interception as the down the line is much higher risk for your opponent... But don't go too early!

Serving tip... On deuce court...Serve towards the body and slightly on their backhand. This makes it hard for your opponent to return down the line, helping your partner out with intercepting... Try it!

Joke of the Week

I broke up with a girl once because she wouldn't stop counting....
I wonder what she is up to now!

Have a good week in and out of the rain!!

Brian
