Junior Newsletter - 6th February
Dear Junior Members and Parents
Happy New Year and welcome back to what we hope will be another exciting and enjoyable year of junior tennis & squash at the club. We are really looking forward to seeing you back on court tonight for the first Junior tennis club night of 2026 (if the rain holds off).
We’d like to start the year by celebrating some fantastic tennis achievements:
- Our U16 Boys and U16 Girls teams have both reached the Surrey League Knockout stages — a brilliant accomplishment and a credit to their hard work and commitment - thank you to all parents involved in arranging/organising matches.
- Congratulations to Harvey, Maisie, and Zara on achieving their LTA Level 1, with Dom progressing to Level 2.
- Well done to Will Smith, who is currently working towards LTA Level 1.
- A special mention to Mila, who continues to train with the U8s County Programme — a great achievement.
We are always looking for volunteers for Junior Club Night, and would also like to remind families that we actively support the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. Our juniors are very welcome to volunteer at the club as part of their DofE requirements, so please get in touch if this is of interest.
We are also excited to be forming a Junior Committee, giving our juniors a chance to share ideas, help shape activities, and have a voice in how the club is run. If you would like to be involved and have a say in how our junior section is run, please contact either myself or Brian by the end of next week. Thank you to everyone who has already expressed an interest — we will be in touch very soon.
Finally, as we start the new year, please take a moment to refresh yourselves on the code of conduct. We love seeing our juniors enjoying their tennis & squash and having a great time at the club, but we also have to be considerate of our neighbours and other members playing and coaching. Being respectful to others on and off the court helps ensure that everyone can enjoy our welcoming, friendly club environment.
See below the Friday Night Junior Social - Code of Conduct
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We’re really looking forward to a fantastic year ahead.
Kind regards,
Catherine
