Hi Everyone

When will the weather improve... We are looking forward to an influx of coaching requests with all that rustiness!

Australian Open in progress with Cameron Norrie the only Brit left in the singles draws... Fingers crossed the doubles lot players will bring some success. Look out for Lloyd Glasspool, Joe Salisbury, Henry Patten.

Club News

Reminder for Sandy's life celebration at the club tomorrow, Tuesday 27th January, from 11am in the clubhouse. Paul would love to see you.. Bit of bubbly and few nibbles to celebrate.  This will be happening even if tennis is rained off.

Don't forget to play your next round of GRACE matches. Even more important that you are ahead with all the weather annoyances!

Welcome to our new members.. Get in touch if you need any info...

Club sessions continue to be popular on Saturdays 2-4pm and Wednesdays 630pm onwards. A good chance to play different players and embrace a tennis social occasion.

Junior club night is restarting soon... Friday 6th February 4pm. Look out for the new junior/parent code of conduct for our juniors.

Reminder we are looking for parents to volunteer to join our new junior committee. A chance to bring some input to our junior section and be part of a great team of volunteers at the club.

Coaching Tip of the Week - Basic Doubles Strategies

  • Fight For Net Control.. Tough winning from the back.
  • Stay On The Move.. Lively and on your toes.
  • Hit Balls Deep When Possible.
  • Aim Towards The Feet Of The Net Player, especially if standing back a bit
  • Attack The Middle
  • Go After The Weaker Player! (Obs a bit of respect and etiquette is necessary)

Jason Manford Dad Joke of the Week!

My best friend begged me not to say his name backwards... I said YNOT!

Spooky Story of the Week

I was talking to one of our members in the club house looking out towards court 3 and the paddock when a lady came from the paddock towards the back of court 3.. Our member said that this lady looked a lot like the queen, scarf, face and outfit... and bang on q this corgi dog came out from the paddock! Spooky!

Have a good week and sending big hug to anyone that needs one!

Brian
