Coronavirus Notice UPDATE - 23rd March
It is with regret that I have to inform you that we are going to close the club house as from this afternoon, following the latest announcement from the government.
The door to the foyer will remain open during the day to allow access to the first aid box and defibrillator. The code will be changed for security purposes and there will be no access to the ladies and gents until we are given permission to reopen. I am however, investigating installing a ‘portaloo’.
The LTA have issued guidelines about protecting yourselves whilst playing tennis, please take a moment to look at these. Their advice is to wear a glove and to avoid contact with the ball, gate handles etc. To wash hands before and after - a cold water basin will be installed outside the gents’ shower room please bring your own soap, towels or gel and hand sanitiser.
I'm really sorry that we have had to close the squash courts but as previously advised we would like to welcome squash members to play tennis and enjoy the open air.
Mark will continue his sessions on the courts.
During this period, the tennis floodlights on all four courts will be switched on in the evening until 9.30pm Monday to Friday. The usual charges for use of the lights will be waived.
All floodlight court bookings already made have been suspended, my apologies – I hope that you will understand in the circumstances. No courts can be booked but please just turn up and use the floodlights.
Our coaches will have priority on Court 3.
Your board and Janet are working hard to ‘moth ball’ the club house in the most effective way. We will endeavour to use the time wisely and ask our cleaner to undertake a thorough spring clean of everything, the squash balustrades are due to be fitted and I imagine that this will go ahead. Once we are given the all clear we will take advice about any disinfecting that we ought to undertake.
I will continue to update you when I have any further information.
With my very best wishes,
